WINDOW FILM

Drying Time
After completion of a new window film, it takes 3-5 days before rolling down or cleaning the windows. It will take 3-4 weeks to fully cure depending on weather, wet and cold weather will slow drying times.

Black Dotted Edges – “Dot Matrix”
Most cars have a black ceramic edge on the side of rear windows; these ceramic edges are either straight and flat or will have a dotted edge. The black ceramic edges are quite thick on most cars which will prevent the window film from sticking to the area between the dots, resulting in a whitish-looking strip trimming the glass, unfortunately, these effects are unavoidable.

Shade / Color
There are no refunds due to the look / appearance / color once a client chooses film, and film is installed.

Imperfections
Though we strive for perfection in our installations, due to the nature of the product, some degree of dust contamination and or minor imperfections are present in every window film application. Pre-existing flaws or scratches and metal deposits on the glass are often much more noticeable after the window are tinted. Older vehicles will have more imperfections due to age. Vehicles with clean interiors have a lower chance of dirt contamination in the window tint. Contamination may not be visible until the film starts to dry, this is why we suggest leaving the vehicle at our shop until 4pm.

Film Removal

Film removal may cause the glass, and defrosters to be damaged. By authorizing to proceed with tint removal, the client hereby acknowledges the risk, waives any claims against MDX DETAILING, and agrees that MDX will not be liable if damage does occur during the removal process.

Windshield Film Installation
Though we strive for perfection in our installations, there will be minor imperfections present in every windshield installation due to the size of windshields. It will be easier to see due to the film being installed on the front windshield. Do not apply any decals, or windshield accessories on the windshield for 7 days. There will be no refund or warranty coverage on the rainbow effect due to wearing polarized sunglasses.

Pennsylvania Law
Customers installing tint not approved by Pennsylvania law have released MDX DETAILING from all liability. It is the responsibility of the customer to abide by PA law.

Older Vehicles
Vehicles older than 5 years, often have deteriorating and brittle interior components, like plastic clips and panels. MDX is not liable for damage to these parts.

Paint Protection Film

Paint protection film is sacrificial layer, designed to protect your vehicle’s paint from chips, scratches, swirl marks, and has a total thickness of 8 mils. PPF is applied to the exterior of your vehicle’s paint. PPF is warrantied for 10 years from yellowing, staining, cracking, blistering and delamination. The PPF warranty does not cover damage resulting from accidents or from objects that hit or penetrate the film. Lifetime warranty is available.

Drying Time
Paint protection film will take 3 - 4 weeks to fully cure depending on weather conditions. Do not wash your vehicle for 7 days. Vehicles should be returned for inspection within 2-4 weeks. Your vehicle should be hand washed thereafter to maintain appearance. Spinning brush / rag car washes will void all warranties.

Condition of vehicle for paint protection film installation

The vehicle cannot have any paint protection coatings on it such as ceramic coatings. These can affect the adhesion and may cause lifting, bubbles, and other issues. The client is aware that the design of the PPF is for OEM factory paint. The client waives and releases MDX DETAILING from any warranty or damage claims where a product has been applied to a non-OEM paint surface.

Paint may lift on repainted panel/OEM paint if improperly prepped and painted. By authorizing MDX DETAILING to proceed with the install, the client hereby acknowledges the risk, waives any claims against MDX DETAILING, and agrees that MDX DETAILING will not be liable in the event that damage does occur during the installation process.

Paint Chips
PPF is to prevent your vehicle from future paint chip damage. PPF will magnify chips. Installation over chips will look like contamination after the install due the unevenness of the paint surface. We do not recommend PPF be applied to surfaces with numerous chips.

Installation
Although we strive to wrap all edges, some cannot be wrapped. All PPF kits are computer cut using cutting software. Pre-cut kits involve stopping short of edges, around badges, washers, and other parts. The customer understands that PPF is a sacrificial layer for your car, not a completely invisible or matte layer. For better appearance, customers may choose to have custom design fit or hand cut / bulk install for an additional fee.

Exposed Edges and Seams
Debris build-up over time on exposed edges/seams will be more visible on white/light-colored vehicles. Partial installs will have more noticeable debris due to more exposed edges. We recommend ceramic coating your vehicle to reduce debris build-up. There is no warranty or reapplication of the film due to debris build-up.

Imperfections
Though we strive for perfection in our installations, due to the nature of the product, some degree of dust contamination and or minor imperfections are present in every PPF application, also pre-existing flaws, scratches, and rock chips on the paint are often much more noticeable after the PPF is installed. Paint Protection Film will have minor imperfections like orange peel. The used and older vehicle will have more imperfections due to its age.

Headlights
Not all headlights are suited for PPF installation due to HID feature and exterior coating. By authorizing MDX DETAILING to proceed with headlight film installation, the customer hereby acknowledges the risk, waives any claims against MDX DETAILING, and agrees that MDX DETAILING will not be liable.

Film, Badge, & Decal Removal
Film, badge, and decal removal may cause the paint to be damaged. By authorizing MDX DETAILING to proceed with the removal, the client hereby acknowledges the risk, waives any claims against MDX DETAILING, and agrees that MDX DETAILING will not be liable in the event that damage does occur during the removal process.

Post Install Inspection
After PPF installation, it is required to return in 2-4 weeks for an inspection of the installation to ensure the film has dried properly without issue.

Notification of issues

If you notice an issue with the installation of film, please notify MDX as soon as possible, or within 7 days of noticing the issue. Fixing an issue as soon as possible allows us to fix the issue quickly and easily.

Ceramic Coating / Exterior Detailing
Ceramic Coating is a SIO2 (Silicon dioxide) & SIC (Silicon Carbide) sacrificial layer providing protection against environmental damage like UV, sap, bugs, and acid rain. Ceramic coatings make your vehicle easier to clean. Ceramic coatings do not stop rock chips, scratches, or dents.  I understand that the coating is not scratch-proof. It is recommended that vehicles get paint protection film (clear bra) on bumper, hood, fenders, and mirrors before coating to prevent rock chips.

Curing Time
Your new Ceramic Coating will take 7 days to fully cure and 2 hours to dry after the last layer of an application. Do not wash your vehicle for 7 days. Your vehicle should be hand washed thereafter to maintain peak coating performance. Spinning brush / rag car washes will void all warranties.

Water Spots
Water spots can easily be avoided by washing and drying a vehicle properly. Washing vehicles with unfiltered water, especially in the sun, can cause water spot stains. Always dry completely and never leave to “air” dry. Tap water contains minerals that may leave deposits creating water spots. The client understands that the longer the water spots are left on the vehicle, the harder it will be to remove them. MDX DETAILING will not be liable in the event that water spot damage does occur.

Condition of Vehicle for Ceramic Coating
For ceramic coatings to bond with paint, the paint must be clean and free of oxidation. MDX accomplishes this with multistep decontamination, clay bar, machine primer polish, per Opti-Coat specifications. Ceramic coating performance (dirt shedding and gloss) is dependent on vehicle condition. The closer to perfect condition on paint jobs, the better a ceramic coating will perform. Scratches, micro scratches, water spots, and etchings will hinder the performance of a coating.

Heavy / Extra Soiling

Vehicles with heavy or extra amounts of tar, brake dust, sap, overspray, mineral deposits, water spots, road paint splatter, or other foreign contaminant will require extra time, labor, product, and material to clean. Removing this extra soiling is necessary to provide proper results and guarantee satisfaction. Heavy soiling will be charged for at a rate of $75 per hour to clean. This is non negotiable.

Paint Correction

Paint correction will remove most light scratches, swirls, marring, and minor defects on the vehicle’s clear coat. The client understands that even though we strive for perfection, some degree of scratching, swirls, and minor defects are present after the paint correction process. The client understands that there is only a small amount of clear coat on vehicles, and trying to remove every last defect in paint will leave the clear coat too thin.

It is recommended that all vehicles have enough paint correction done to achieve the best possible performance. The client acknowledges that the ceramic coating on uncorrected areas will be less effective than corrected areas. By waiving this additional service, the client understands that the coating will be less effective on areas that have not been paint corrected.

Wet Sanding
Wet sanding is used to remove the top layer of a vehicle’s clear coat and reduce the appearance of deep scratches. Because of the risks associated with wet sanding, MDX DETAILING only uses this technique when there are only 2 options for the affected area: wet sand or repaint. Therefore, MDX DETAILING assumes no responsibility for repair to the affected areas should wet sanding cause additional damage. It is highly recommended that after a vehicle has been wet sanded, that Ceramic Coatings be applied to replenish the clear coat to the vehicle’s paint.

Windshield Coating
Client understands that weather conditions will affect the degree and time of protection. There is no warranty on durability on windshield coating.

Wheels Off Service / Coating
With standard service, we deep clean the wheels as much as possible and ceramic coat the face / spokes. For the cleanest wheels and brake calipers possible, and for thorough ceramic coating application to the full wheel, barrel, and caliper, wheels off service is recommended.

After coating application, If any brake dust or road debris is on wheels and calipers, it is advised to clean it up as soon as possible to prevent stains from occurring. I understand that the longer the substance stays on, staining may occur on wheels and calipers. The client is responsible for re-torquing the wheels to vehicle manufacturer torque specifications.

Interior Coating
Interior coatings help prevent UV damage, permanent stains, and makes cleaning easier. Regular cleaning of the interior is advised to keep the interior as clean as possible. If any liquid or substance gets on the upholstery, it is advised to clean it up as soon as possible to prevent stains. I understand that the longer the substance remains on the upholstery, staining may occur.

Wheels Off Coating
If any brake dust or road debris is on wheels and calipers, it is advised to clean it up as soon as possible to prevent stains from occurring. I understand that the longer the substance stays on, staining may occur on wheels and calipers. Wheel coating is not recommended for bare aluminum wheels, therefore bare aluminum wheels will not be coated. If you want to proceed with the coating, there will be no warranty given on bare aluminum wheels. The client is responsible for re-torquing the wheels to vehicle manufacturer torque specifications.

Maintenance & Annual Inspections
We recommend washing your vehicle bi-weekly. Annual Inspections and decon washes are recommended after the install date to ensure that the coating has been maintained and cared for properly.

Interior Detailing

Heavy / Extra Soiling
